Being a good driver and running a compliant motor carrier operation are two very different things. For most new carriers stepping out on their own for the first time, it’s not the driving that trips them up. It’s the filings, the compliance programs, and the documentation that FMCSA expects to see from day one.

Before you can legally dispatch a single load, FMCSA requires a series of authority filings, insurance documentation, and registrations to be in place. Once you’re operating, you’ll need active compliance programs that may include drug and alcohol testing, the Clearinghouse, Driver Qualification Files, hours of service, and vehicle maintenance. And within your first 12 months of operation, FMCSA will conduct a Safety Audit to review all of it.

In this free webinar, our team will walk through the entire process from start to audit.

We’ll cover:

  • Setting up your business (LLC, EIN, bank account)
  • The FMCSA filings required to activate your authority (USDOT number, MC number, BOC-3, insurance, UCR)
  • The compliance programs you need before your first CDL driver operates
  • What the New Entrant Safety Audit looks like and when to expect it
  • Common mistakes new carriers make and how to avoid them

Whether you already have your DOT number or you’re still weighing the decision, you’ll walk away with a clear roadmap for getting started the right way.
