Unified Carrier Registration is a federally mandated annual program under 49 CFR Part 367. Every motor carrier, broker, freight forwarder, and leasing company operating in interstate commerce must register and pay an annual fee based on fleet size.
The UCR program replaced the Single State Registration System on September 10, 2007. It requires any entity engaged in interstate commerce to register annually with a participating state and pay the applicable fee.
