Are you ready for Roadcheck 2020?
Make sure you are prepared for this year’s Roadcheck!
The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) will be holding their annual 72-hour enforcement event, Roadcheck 2020, September 9th through September 11th. Whether you’re a veteran motor carrier, or brand new to the new industry, the following information could help save you from violations that could result in your company being put out of service.
During this 3-day event, tens of thousands of operators will be stopped for an inspection throughout Canada, Mexico and the United States. Inspections will be performed at weigh stations, inspection stations, designated fixed locations, and by roving patrol.
It’s extremely important for your trucking company to be prepared for one of these inspections this year. In 2019 there were approximately 60,058 Level I, II and III inspections performed across the United States. Of the level I inspections performed, 21.5% of the drivers and/or trucks were placed out of service. An out of service can be crippling for a business and its clients, so it is in your best interest to be prepared!
What to Expect
During Roadcheck 2020, there are two main areas for each inspection: drivers and truck safety. The CVSA has specified that there will be an extra emphasis on drivers this year. Below is a list of areas that have caused common violations in the past.
