Double Check For Roadcheck 2020
Roadcheck 2020 September 9th-11th
In a previous blog we touched on some of the last year’s stats for drivers and truck inspection points that put trucking companies out-of-service. With Roadcheck 2020 here now, please review the below information to make sure all of your bases are covered.
Is your company Up-To-Date?
Inspectors will be looking into many different aspects pertaining to your commercial motor vehicle operations. If you are not up-to-date on filings for your DOT or MC numbers now is the time to get those taken care of. A few of the filings they’ll be looking for are as follows:
-Current MCS-150 form on file.
-2020 Unified Carrier Registration (UCR)
-Blanket of Coverage (BOC-3) attached to your MC #
-Certificate of enrollment in a drug and alcohol consortium and enrollment into the FMCSA’s Clearinghouse, if your company operates over 26,001 GVWR
Are your drivers up-to-date?
The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) will be placing a special emphasis on drivers during this year’s Roadcheck. You’ll want to check a few specific areas as follows:
-Medical certificate is not expired
-Driver qualification is complete including road test
-No current suspensions or major issues on motor vehicle report
-Enrolled in and has no failed drug or alcohol screenings in a drug and alcohol program

Inspectors will also be making sure that your CMV’s are operating at the standards set forth by the FMCSA. The most common violations for vehicles come in the form of poorly working equipment; but make sure you’ve got everything else in order as well:
-Annual vehicle inspection report current for the year
-Complete and accurate logs on hand
-Complete daily vehicle inspection reports (DVIR) on hand
-Necessary safety gear in the cab
